Eric Clapton Performs at Mud Island

Eric Clapton,a  Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee as a member of the Yardbirds, Cream and as a solo performer, being the only person inducted three times. Often viewed as one of the greatest guitarist of all time, Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time" .  Clapton will bring his varied musical style to Mud Island Ampitheatre in Memphis on April 30th at 7:30 p.m. Call (800) 949-1866 to order tickets.

Brit Floyd: The World's Greatest Tribute Show

May 2 - May 4, 2014 at Tom Lee Park in Downtown Memphis

The 2014 Beale Street Music Festival marks the 38th anniversary of the festival which each year attracts music enthusiasts from all 50 states and a dozen foreign countries to the storied city where rock-n-roll and blues music all began.  Over the past decade the festival has attracted over 1.1 million music fans to the multistage three-day event, best known for its eclectic mix of contemporary rock, blues, soul and modern talent and its musically inspired setting.  The festival is held in a beautiful 25 acre riverfront park at the foot of historic Beale Street overlooking the mighty Mississippi River.

Riverfest

Riverfest is a celebration of visual and performing arts that is held annually over Memorial Day weekend on the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock and North Little Rock. Riverfest is the largest single event in the state of Arkansas with a rich 36-year tradition. Approximately 250,000 festival-goers attended the 2013 event.

CASA 3rd Annual 5K Race/Fun Run

This is CASA’s 3rd annual 5K Run and 1 mile Run/Fun Walk. It will a great morning at Spring Park in Searcy with the race starting at 8am. There will be music, food, and activities for kids! Proceeds from the event will support CASA. Pioneer Village Spring Open House

The Pioneer Village Spring Open House will be May 3rd and 4th frp, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Pioneer Village is a Village of late 1800's - early 1900's buildings, collected from around the county, and moved into a park like setting. There will costumed guides, Dutch oven cooking, kettle corn, live music, vendors, games for children and much more.  All buildings will be open including the"New" Old Trapper Cabin that was just reconstructed. There will be other new displays at the Village. Food will be available for purchase. Come early and stay late.  Bring your camera to make memories for your family. Spring County-Wide Cleanup

White County and the city of Searcy will host the Spring County-Wide Cleanup Friday April 25th from 7:30am - 5pm and Saturday, April 26th from 8am - 2pm.  Just look for the signs at the Fair Grounds on Davis Drive in Searcy.  Items that will be accepted include regular size tires off the rim, appliances, scrap metal, furniture, bagged trash and solid paint.  Items that will not be accepted include concrete, masonry, chemicals, liquid paint, batteries, electronics and tractor tires.  For more information, call 501-279-6200.

Boots & Badges

The annual "Boots and Badges" fundraising event benefiting the Special Olympics of Arkansas kicks off Friday, May 9th in the parking lot of the Walmart  Supercenter in Searcy, AR. Local law enforcement and fire departments will take the time from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to collect donations from customers

All money raised from Boots and Badges will help Special Olympics Arkansas provide training to the 14,000 athletes and purchase necessary equipment throughout the year as the athletes train to participate in sports and Olympic-style competition.
