The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce invites all managers and business owners in the hospitality industry to attend a ”Welcome to Arkansas” hospitality training May 29th, 2012. The event will be held in the George Rider Community Room at First Community Bank from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Lunch will be provided by Subway Eagle Mountain.
The “Welcome to Arkansas” cross-selling and hospitality training program seeks to increase visitors’ satisfaction with an Arkansas vacation and improve customer service by arming frontline personnel with messages about their local community, region, and state.
This incentive-based program is targeted toward frontline personnel at attractions, lodging properties, dining establishments, and any other business or group that interacts with the traveling public. Participating communities encourage guests to spend more time and money in their areas and identify exemplary employees whose actions impact their businesses’ bottom lines every day.
Tami Meyer, Tourism Director, “Tourism and Economic Development go hand in hand. The goal is to attract visitors, get them to revisit, and possibly consider retiring or relocating to our area. Once a visitor or customer has an experience they develop feelings about that experience. The value of an experience and the value of feelings is what keeps your value up and keeps people coming back.” People remember 10 percent of what they hear, but they remember 100 percent of what they feel.”
Additional trainings will be available for employees in June.
The training is $15.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members. Registration is required and seating is limited. Please contact Tami Meyer at 870-793-2378 or tourismdirector@mybatesville.
