Paul McCartney chooses to name his new band "Wings" on September 3, 1971. The original line up included McCartney, his wife Linda, former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine and drummer Denny Seiwell. Wings soared with 14 top 10 hits in the U.S. including six that reached number one. McCartney continues to tour as a solo artist and just dropped a brand new single, the title track from his forth-coming studio album "New" due to release in October.
