Singer, musician, lyricist and activist Roger Waters was born September 6, 1943 in Surrey, England. His father was a teacher and a communist party member and was killed in Italy while serving in the British Army during World War 2. Waters co-founded Pink Floyd in 1965. In the years since, Pink Floyd has sold over 250 Million albums across the globe and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
