The New Yardbirds start rehearsals in London on August 12, 1968. In the following weeks, the foursome would be renamed Led Zeppelin and go on to sell an estimated 300 million albums across the globe. The iconic band was inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame in 1995. In 2012 the three surving members of Led Zeppelin were recipients of Kennedy Center Honors. Just last week, former frontman Robert Plant, announced he has relaunched the website robertplant.com and is offering a free download of the Led Zeppelin classic "What Is And What Should Never Be" recorded live with his current band the Sensational Space Shifters.
