J. Geils Singer Weds Hollywood Starlet 39 Years Ago Today

Peter Wolf and "Bonnie & Clyde" actress Faye Dunaway were married on August 7, 1974. The union would last five years. A former disc jockey, the Bronx-born Wolf joined the J. Geils Band in 1967. The band would enjoy their biggest commercial success with the 1982 album "Freeze Frame" which spawned a pair of Top 5 singles. Now 67 years old, Peter and the J. Geils Band have opened several dates for Aerosmith this summer.
Procol Harum Pair With Orchestra to Creat Hit Record

English rockers Procol Harum recorded "Conquistador" on August 6, 1972 during a live performance with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. The single reached #16 on the Billboard chart that same year becoming just their third, and final, Top 40 hit. The band was named for a friend's cat. Procol Harum was nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012, but failed to muster enough ballots for induction.

Married to Fleetwood Mac co-founder John at the time, Christine McVie was officially enlisted to provide keyboards and vocals on August 1, 1970. She would spend nearly three decades in the legendary group before retiring in 1998.
